Ivan Mišurec

I was born in Prague in 1961 and graduated from Gymnasium Přípotoční in Prague in 1979. Following that, I pursued my studies at the Faculty of Education at Charles University in Prague, specializing in Music Education and the Czech language. In 1986, I completed my diploma thesis on the subject of new electronic instruments, under the supervision of Petr Kofroň.

From 1968, private piano study and from 1976, vocal study (prof. Terezie Blumová).

Youth spent in musical activities in amateur and later professional bands of various genres, for example:

singing in the ŽNO choir (traditional jewish music)
keyboards and vocals, also two own songs in the repertory of the group Combo FH (Daniel Fikejz), in the period of a "Situace na střeše" CD and a memorable big Slovakian tour as a support band for a famous Elán group

I collaborated with well known singers from a socialist era, e.g. Standa Procházka ml., Dalibor Janda or Lucie Bílá (see me in the video with Lucie, on stage with keyboard, in the red shirt) :-)

I spent military service in a VHŠ VN in Roudnice nad Labem (conservatory preparing military musicians), also a bit studying alto saxophone playing - finished 1988.

HVĚZDNÝ PRACH (STARDUST)

After the "velvet revolution" in November 1989 I performed in a duo of a club dance music including playing in Slovakia, Germany and Switzerland - but after some time I decided that I preferred the family life and stay at home in Czech.
Here I founded an ensemble called " Hvězdný prach", mainly focused on music for Ballroom dancing both standard and latin, that functions from 1995 until the present. For this band I also completely arrange and program the repertory.- VIDEO – MEDLEY HP

Also - I composed a few own dance songs in the standard / latin rhythms for this group. - VIDEO – HP ORIG

I also played with other ensembles that time, eg. with duo of Balkan music "Boro + Iannis" (Boro Prelić), or as a musician in a touring talkshow of popular actors D. Veškrnová and L. Vaculík, on the piano I accompanied performances of a singer and guitarist Diego Bransburg, also I programmed and arranged a repertory of Russian and Ukrainian dance / traditional music for a singer named Oleg Tschaadaew, with whom I also played in his band in Bayern Germany for a few years. Even - I also performed as an organist during ice hockey league matches in the big Sport Hall in Prague.

YAMAHA

My dominant musical activity became a cooperation with the company Yamaha Music Europe, that I started 1995 and the main work was programming the midifiles and accompaniment styles for the Yamaha keyboards. At the end of the 90's I temporarily went over to Yamaha Ringtone Division, where we created the ringtones for the mobile phones. When this work was finished after some two - three years, I returned to the midifile programming. VIDEO – MIDI PROGRAMMING

VIDEO AND FILM

I have always been interested also in a music for the video and film.
1987 - I took part in making music for the film "Přátelé bermudského trojúhelníku" together with the band Combo FH
1989 - I created electronic music for the film "Běžec" (the first film of Filip Renč, under supervision of Fero Fenič) later this year I cooperated with Míla Halík on the music for Vít Olmer's movie " Strašidlo cantervillské"

Later in 90's I created quite a lot of music for the videos of many kinds, for example - promotional videofilms presenting the beauties of Prague and other cities to tourists - or video cassettes featuring fitness exercise for pregnant women - also a promotional video for the international horse show - erotic films...whatever I was asked for.....

I was making also some advertisement those years, I remember for example KB Expert firm, but especially the tv and broadcast advertising campaign of an Edit catalogue, within which sounded through all the state really often a sample of my "Drei Minuten Walzer"

2004 - I composed music for the award-winning half-documentary film called "ROSALIE MOLLER"

Later this year I also took part in a tender for creating music for the film, that was later called "Kozí příběh" - pity without success. (VIDEO POVĚSTI STARÉ PRAHY. )

In the following years I concentrated especially on midifile programming and playing with the band, with a few occasional trips to the world of sound design and music for the mobile phone applications, mainly for the Rolling mobile firm. Anyway, I started to miss creating music for movies some two years ago, so I created some studies in that field, for example...:

SONGS

Continuously, I was also trying to compose the songs, with my own Czech lyrics for the band Combo FH, later also in English, in collaboration with text writer Steven M.Minard - two songs were recorded in 1991 ( a song Tears in the Dust was released one year later in a sampler CD Fajn Rock Music ).

I have written some songs together with German lyricist Angelika Rheindorf, one here - Das beste Cowgirl ist die Mama you can hear in the provisional demo version.

The same stands for the next two demo-songs, intented at the moment for the final completion for revisiting...
